In the following months, the mod has experienced several changes with team members joining and leaving and assets being remade entirely. At this point there were only 4 developers. The mod started development as early as December 6th 2020. The mod is known best for adding the Gargantuan Leviathan (known as the Garg by most people) into the game, which has been a highly requested feature since the original fossil for the creature was introduced. Return of the Ancients is a mod for Subnautica that adds several features to the base game.
